Founded in 1808 on the fork of the Mohican River and named in honor of U.S. Surveyor General Jared Mansfield; Mansfield is the county seat of Richland County, Ohio. With its diverse economic, education, retail, and healthcare sectors; Mansfield is fondly known as “The Fun Center of Ohio”.
Mansfield is home to a number of golf courses and parks; perfect for nature enthusiasts. The Ohio Bird Sanctuary and Gorman Nature Center are also within Mansfield City limits. The city’s more scenic areas can be found along the Richland B&O Bike Trail.
