Bucyrus was founded in 1822 along the Sandusky River by Colonel James Kilbourne. It is the county seat and largest city in Crawford County, Ohio. When in downtown Bucyrus, you will certainly notice the murals by famed muralist Eric Grohe.
Bucyrus is home to one of the best golf courses in the area, as well as a speakeasy that was used by Al Capone while making his trips between New York and Chicago. Bucyrus is well-known for its amazing bratwurst which has spurred an annual bratwurst festival. This has earned Bucyrus the moniker “the Bratwurst Capital of America.”
